What Occupy Vancouver Could Look Like

May Day, on May 1st: do you think we could get Occupy Vancouver up by then?

I know how we can get this to work. I really do.

And I’m not talking about tents or physical 24 hour occupations, in particular, right now.

I am however talking about 2 things:

  1. What Occupy Vancouver could look like, organizationally.
  2. When we could get ourselves flowing in order to catch up with the worldwide Wave of Action: May Day.

Here’s the skinny:

  1. Some time ago I wrote a piece about a movement that operates as I imagine Occupy Canada could work. It was a piece of fiction, but you wouldn’t know it because it was not science-fiction. It could be operating now, with all the technical and organizational means already in existence in this young century. So if you want to know what I think we could be pulling off, read Fried Squirrels.
  2. May Day, on May 1st, happens to be 1/3 the way through the Wave of Action. We could easily get something together by then. And by something, I mean at the very least organizational meetings. Because frankly, not much happens without starting with that. Let’s see who’s up for some meeting and planning!
